Day 4..... August 30

A very early morning.  Breakfast at 6, then to the flower auction in Alsmeer.

Saw lots of beautiful flowers, but almost all the auction is online, so no action there. Lots of action on the floor where the flowers are moved from place to place.

Sorry, I haven't been keeping up with this. It has been very busy, but very good. We have been so blessed weather wise.

Kevin crawling into the hiding place.

From here we travelled onto Haarlam to visit the Mennonite church and then to Corrie ten Boom house which is now a museum. A very interesting 1 hour tour learning about Corrie and the ten Boom family. When the Nazi's invaded the house,  they were hiding 6 people. Corrie was sick that day, and it was her sister Betsie that opened the door, but not until she had rang the buzzer that notified the people and they had less then a minute to get upstairs and into the hiding place. The Nazi's did not find the hiding place, but Corrie, her father and sister were taken.

Then had free time for lunch and shopping.

Went into Amsterdsm for a canal cruise, but the traffic was very heavy, so we missed the boat we were planning to go on, and had to wait about an hour for the next one, which made us late for visiting Zaanse Schans.

Met Jan, Greet ,Janneke and her 2 children there for a very short visit. Jan toured the group, and Greet, Janneke and I visited. Very good to see them again.

Drove up into Friesland crossing the 22 km dyck, and then to Berlikum church where we met our hosts for the night. We went into different homes for supper  overnight and then breakfast the next morning.
